Fontes Verdes to Invest R$ 1.5 Billion in Green Hydrogen Plant in Rio Grande

Fontes Verdes announced a R$ 220 million investment for the first phase of a green hydrogen and ammonia factory in Rio Grande, Brazil. The total project investment could reach R$ 1.5 billion over three phases.

Construction is set to begin in 2026 on a 30-hectare site, creating 80 jobs during construction and 60 in operations. The Secretary of Development, Vitor Magalhães, is exploring other ventures following the state losing the GWM factory.
