Fontes Verdes to Invest R$ 1.5 Billion in Green Hydrogen Plant in Rio Grande
Fontes Verdes has announced an initial investment of R$ 220 million for the first phase of a green hydrogen and ammonia factory in Rio Grande, Brazil, with total project costs potentially reaching R$ 1.5 billion across three phases. Construction is slated to begin in 2026 on a 30-hectare site, creating 80 jobs during the construction phase and 60 in ongoing operations. The state's Secretary of Development, Vitor Magalhães, is also seeking additional investment opportunities following the loss of the GWM factory.
