Ford Appoints Lisa Drake as President of New Battery Energy Storage Business
Ford Motor Co. has appointed Lisa Drake as president of Ford Energy to lead its new battery energy storage systems business, following the dissolution of its joint venture with SK On Ltd. The company plans a $2 billion investment to repurpose the BlueOval SK plant in Kentucky, creating 2,100 jobs, with products expected to launch in 2027. Drake will focus on both utility-scale and residential energy storage solutions, leveraging Ford's manufacturing capabilities.

Ford Motor Co. appointed Lisa Drake as president of Ford Energy to establish its battery energy storage systems business. Drake, formerly VP of technology platform programs and EV systems, will oversee battery cell manufacturing and sales.
