Former NC Lt. Gov. Dan Forest Launches North Carolina Blockchain + AI Initiative
Dan Forest, former Lt. Gov. of North Carolina, has launched the North Carolina Blockchain + AI Initiative to unify blockchain and AI companies and influence policy in Raleigh and Washington. The coalition aims to support federal stablecoin legislation, reform data center permitting, and address energy usage concerns. The initiative builds on Forest's previous work with the state blockchain task force from 2019 and seeks to position North Carolina as a leader in these technologies.

The North Carolina Blockchain + AI Initiative (NCB+AI) has been launched by former Lt. Gov. Dan Forest to unify blockchain, AI, finance, and energy sectors.
The coalition aims to influence policy as regulators develop new rules. NCB+AI will focus on supporting federal stablecoin legislation, reforming data center permitting, and addressing energy concerns related to AI technology.
Dan Spuller from the Blockchain Association will lead the board. The initiative is funded through a membership model and builds on earlier efforts from the 2019 NC Blockchain Initiative. NCB+AI aims to make North Carolina a leader in blockchain and AI through targeted advocacy and education.
