Former Remington Arms Site Targeted for A.I. Data Center Development
Turin Hoefler Avenue LLC plans to redevelop the former Remington Arms site in Ilion into a 250,000-square-foot A.I. data center. Environmental cleanup is required due to contamination with hazardous heavy metals exceeding state standards.

Turin Hoefler Avenue LLC aims to transform the former Remington Arms site in Ilion, New York, into a 250,000-square-foot A.I. data center. A revised application for the project was submitted to the State Department of Environmental Conservation in January.
The site has been identified as contaminated with heavy metals, including arsenic and mercury, which need remediation before construction can commence. The project schedule outlines state review and public comment periods set for this year and the next.
The Remington Arms facility, which operated for over 200 years, ceased production in 2024, relocating its operations to Georgia and Arkansas. Successful remediation and development could revitalize the site and stimulate local economic growth.
