Fortress Investment Group Files Data Center Application for Former Travel Tags Site in Inver Grove Heights
A zoning application for a data center has been filed for the 14-acre site at 5890 Carmen Ave. in Inver Grove Heights, previously occupied by Travel Tags. The site was sold in December to Fortress Investment Group, a California investment firm and subsidiary of Mubadala Investment Company.
City staff are reviewing the application, which complies with existing zoning allowing data centers. Upon completion of the review, the project will proceed to the planning commission and city council.
This site is significantly smaller than other contentious data center proposals in Dakota County, such as a 340-acre project in Farmington. The County Board will review data center impacts across the county on April 7.
