Fortum and EcoDataCenter Sign PPA for AI Data Center in Falun
Fortum and EcoDataCenter have entered into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to supply 10 MW of fossil-free electricity to a new data center in Falun, operated by CoreWeave. This collaboration aims to integrate sustainable energy solutions with large-scale AI development, enhancing industry growth in the Dalarna region.

Fortum and EcoDataCenter's PPA will provide 10 MW of fossil-free electricity from Fortum's hydropower facilities in Dalälven to the Falun data center, operational from 2026 to 2030. This partnership not only supports EcoDataCenter's AI-focused infrastructure by ensuring a stable energy supply but also strengthens Fortum's commitment to the growing data center sector in Sweden.
The agreement includes local guarantees of origin for the electricity supplied. The collaboration is expected to foster regional development and could set a precedent for similar arrangements in the industry.
