Fossefall Plans Data Center Development in Harpefoss, Norway
Fossefall is planning a data center in Harpefoss, Norway, potentially on the site of a closing childcare center. The municipal council has yet to decide on the proposal. Established in 2022, Fossefall aims to create 500MW of AI infrastructure by 2030, powered by renewable energy. PolarDC is also expanding, with plans for data centers in Drangedal and Porsgrunni, requiring a cost-benefit analysis for projects over 2MW.

Fossefall intends to develop a data center in Harpefoss, Norway, possibly on the site of a soon-to-close childcare center, pending municipal council approval. The company aims to establish 500MW of clean AI infrastructure by 2030, utilizing surplus renewable energy.
It previously acquired a data center in Fyresdal capable of supporting 5.5MW, with plans to increase to 18MW. In parallel, PolarDC is expanding its footprint in Drangedal and Porsgrunni, with a requirement for a cost-benefit analysis for projects exceeding 2MW.
PolarDC's DRA site has 52MW in development, while the facility in Tørdal will be a 12MW project starting in 2024. A secondary site near Oslo aims for 100MW.
