Foxconn Commits $1.5 Billion to Expand Operations in India
Foxconn is investing $1.5 billion in India to diversify manufacturing away from China, enhancing its operational capabilities. This investment is part of a broader strategy to mitigate risks and capitalize on India's growing tech market.

Foxconn plans to invest over $1.5 billion in India through its subsidiary, Hon Hai Technology India Mega Development, to strengthen its manufacturing presence. This project follows previous investments of $600 million in Karnataka and $500 million in Telangana, reflecting the company's strategy to reduce reliance on China amid geopolitical tensions and pandemic-related disruptions.
Despite a recent withdrawal from a $19.5 billion chipmaking venture in India, Foxconn's commitment to the local tech sector remains strong, indicating a focus on the evolving semiconductor landscape. This trend of diversification may impact supply chain dynamics, as tech companies seek to mitigate operational risks.
