A framework agreement has been established to redevelop the former Enel site in Pietrafitta into a center for energy research and production, supported by the Umbria Region, the municipalities of Piegaro and Panicale, the University of Perugia, and Consorzio Consenergiagreen. The initiative seeks to rehabilitate this industrially significant area, which includes 12 disused buildings and a total volume of 130,000 cubic meters.

Following environmental remediation efforts, the project aims to create a technological hub focusing on sustainability, innovation, and attracting private investments. Plans will be detailed on February 24, with areas designated for research, technology transfer, and incubators, and potential developments in sustainable wood, green hydrogen, and data centers.
