France to Launch Major Data Center Project Near Paris by 2028
A €50 billion data center, 'Campus IA', is set to be developed in Fouju, France, with significant environmental concerns.

The 'Campus IA' data center, expected to be the largest in France and Europe, will be constructed in Fouju by 2028. This facility will consume electricity equivalent to that of a nuclear power plant and will feature hundreds of generators and climate control systems that may emit toxic substances, including PFAS.
The project spans 70 hectares of agricultural land and is backed by major stakeholders, including Mistral AI, Nvidia, MGX, and Bpifrance. RTE will construct a large electrical distribution station to support the center's energy needs. The environmental impact of such a project raises concerns about sustainability and local ecological effects.
