Fraunhofer IWES and Fugro completed a Geophysical Site Characterization of the N-9.5 area in the German North Sea for the BSH, conducted in April and May 2025. The survey covered 2,349 kilometers of lines, providing geological data for planning an offshore wind farm that aims to add 1 GW to Germany's grid.

Fugro was the main contractor, using the Fugro Discovery vessel, while Fraunhofer IWES handled ultra-high-resolution seismic data. This project marks eight years of UHR MCS campaigns for the BSH.
