French Senate Launches Credit Climate Digital Asset for Future Climate Projects
Credit Climate was launched at the French Senate Forum as a digital asset aimed at funding future climate projects with measurable impacts. The initiative, introduced by the Groupement du Patronat Francophone (GPF), seeks to provide a traceable funding mechanism for ethical climate projects, diverging from traditional carbon-offset systems that rely on retrospective accounting.
The forum gathered participants from five continents to discuss the role of digital technologies in addressing climate challenges, supported by over 60 business organizations. Credit Climate focuses on three objectives: enhancing environmental impact through projects like clean hydrogen production, creating a liquid ESG-aligned asset to mobilize capital, and promoting inclusive tools to address inequalities. The platform aims to enable companies to record climate-aligned assets on their balance sheets, encouraging proactive climate strategies and collaborative frameworks for ecological transition.
