Fringe Infrastructure Launches Edge Data Center in Lagos, Nigeria
Fringe Infrastructure, a new Edge data center operator based in Nigeria, has officially launched its first facility in Ikoyi, Lagos. The facility offers 1 MW of behind-the-meter capacity and can accommodate up to 72 racks.
Co-founders include Vremudia Oghene-Ruemu, formerly of MainOne and American Tower, and Andrew Agbo-Madaki. The company aims to establish five additional facilities across the region by 2030, utilizing a power-first deployment model with direct connections to power plants and independent producers. Fringe Infrastructure emphasizes its commitment to distributed, power-efficient infrastructure, focusing on colocation, enterprise-grade interconnection, AI inference, and sovereign computing.
