Frontieras North America Acquires Land in West Virginia for First Commercial Coal Reformation Facility
Frontieras North America has purchased 183 acres along the Ohio River north of Point Pleasant, West Virginia, to construct its first commercial coal reformation facility. This site will host the initial commercial deployment of FASForm, a clean hydrocarbon process converting coal into fuels, fertilizers, and industrial carbon products with zero waste and emissions.
The project is projected to create over 2,000 construction jobs and more than 200 permanent positions in Mason County and nearby areas. The location features over a mile of river access for coal transport and outbound products, along with Class I rail access via CSX for nationwide distribution.
Frontieras aims to produce 2.3 barrels of refined fuels per ton of coal, alongside hydrogen and other carbon products, while operating a zero-waste facility. The company selected the Mason County site over locations in Texas and Wyoming and plans further expansion in the Appalachian region.
