Fugro and Sweco Initiate Surveys for Dutch CO2 and Hydrogen Pipeline Project
Fugro and Sweco are conducting subsurface surveys for the Delta Rhine Corridor West project in the Netherlands. This initiative aims to link industrial hubs with hydrogen supply and CO2 storage, facilitating decarbonization efforts.

Surveys for the Delta Rhine Corridor West (DRC West) project are underway, commissioned by Gasunie. The project will create a pipeline network connecting Rotterdam, Moerdijk, and Boxtel for hydrogen transport and offshore CO2 storage in the North Sea.
Fugro and Sweco's fieldwork spans a 44-mile route, involving geotechnical assessments including cone penetration testing and groundwater monitoring. Special focus is on the Hollands Diep crossing, necessitating additional surveys for safety.
Environmental assessments are also being carried out to meet regulatory standards. Findings will support further design and construction phases, essential for integrated energy infrastructure in the Netherlands.
