Fujitsu's Fsas Technologies Leads Bid for €25M Supercomputer in Galicia
Fsas Technologies is leading the bid to supply the Finisterrae IV supercomputer to Cesga, with a budget exceeding €25 million, following a favorable cost-performance evaluation. The Xunta of Galicia is investing €56 million in infrastructure improvements, including a new datacenter, to position the region as a supercomputing hub. Meanwhile, Telefónica secured a separate €9 million contract for a quantum computer to bolster research capabilities.

Fsas Technologies is in the lead for the contract to supply the Finisterrae IV supercomputer to Cesga, with a budget exceeding €25 million. The contract evaluation on January 7 favored Fsas Technologies based on cost-performance criteria, while Telefónica scored highest on technical evaluation.
The Xunta aims to establish Galicia as a supercomputing and technology hub, backed by a €56 million budget for infrastructure improvements, including a new datacenter in Santiago de Compostela. Telefónica was awarded a separate contract for a €9 million quantum computer, enhancing research capabilities. The Finisterrae IV will enhance AI computational needs and improve data storage at Cesga.
