FuriosaAI Launches RNGD AI Accelerators in European Datacenters
FuriosaAI has deployed its RNGD AI accelerators at Equinix's datacenter in Lisbon, targeting Europe’s AI compute demand. The move reflects the company's strategy to expand beyond South Korea and enhance brand recognition while developing advanced hardware in collaboration with Broadcom.

FuriosaAI has commenced the deployment of its RNGD line of AI accelerators at Equinix's LS2 datacenter in Lisbon, Portugal. This initiative marks the company's entry into the European market, driven by rising demand for sovereign AI compute capabilities.
The RNGD accelerators, based on a tensor contraction processor architecture and manufactured using TSMC's 5 nm technology, offer 512 teraFLOPS of FP8 performance with a power draw of 180 watts per card. Each NXT RNGD Server houses eight of these accelerators, facilitating large enterprise models due to its substantial memory capacity.
FuriosaAI is also collaborating with Broadcom to develop a third-generation AI accelerator that will leverage HBM4 memory, aiming for improved performance and scalability. However, these next-gen chips are not expected to be available until 2024.
