Gabon is initiating a major financial offensive with the launch of six new sectoral funds under the Fonds Gabonais d'Investissements Stratégiques (FGIS), totaling over 500 billion FCFA. This move aims to diversify the economy and reduce oil dependency.

The FGIS portfolio targets long-term projects in key areas like energy, agriculture, infrastructure, manganese, energy resources, and industrial transformation. The annual investment deficit in Gabon is over 700 billion FCFA, highlighting the urgency for these investments to support national growth pillars and enhance economic sovereignty over the next five years.
