Gail Technology to Build Renewable Energy Data Center and Solar Array in Effingham
Gail Technology is constructing a data center and solar power array in Effingham, Illinois, with an estimated construction duration of 10 to 15 months. The project will involve local hiring and is located at 15244 E. 1700th Avenue.
IAG Investments is leasing the land to a solar development company to establish the solar array and data center shell, while Gail Technology will lease access to the data center. The facility will support artificial intelligence and Web3 applications, powered entirely by renewable energy, with excess energy returned to the grid.
The project is expected to generate enough energy for 2,000 to 4,000 homes annually. Additionally, Gail Technology is partnering with Pheasants Forever to create wildlife habitats between the solar arrays. The company plans to minimize environmental impact and has the option to revert the land to farmland after a 25-year lease.
