Gazprom Initiates Gas Production at Shakhpakhty Field in Uzbekistan
Gazprom has commenced natural gas production at the Shakhpakhty field in Uzbekistan under a Production Sharing Agreement. Full production capacity is expected to reach approximately 500 million cubic meters per year by 2006. An investment of $12 million is planned for this year, with a total of $15 million allocated for field development from 2004 to 2007. The Shakhpakhty field, developed since the 1970s, had previously halted production in February 2002 due to equipment issues.

Gazprom has started producing natural gas at the Shakhpakhty field in Uzbekistan under a Production Sharing Agreement. Full capacity is anticipated in 2006, producing about 500 million cubic meters of gas annually.
This gas will be transported to Uzbekistan's northern border for export via trunk pipeline. Gazprom plans to invest $12 million in the field this year, with a total investment of $15 million allocated for 2004-2007. Production was previously halted in February 2002 due to equipment wear at the compressor station.
