GE Vernova to Invest $11 Billion in Grid Modernization and Renewable Integration by 2028
GE Vernova plans to invest $11 billion from 2025 to 2028 in capital and R&D to enhance energy systems, grid technologies, and renewable energy integration. The company aims to strengthen electricity grids, expand its wind energy portfolio, and achieve carbon neutrality for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030.

GE Vernova is expanding its energy transition strategy by investing $11 billion from 2025 to 2028 in capital expenditure and research to advance grid modernization and renewable integration. The company operates over 7,000 gas turbines and 59,000 wind turbines globally, generating about 25% of the world's electricity.
Its Grid Solutions division is enhancing high-voltage transmission systems to support renewable energy growth. GE Vernova is also streamlining its wind energy portfolio and focusing on technologies that help customers reduce carbon emissions, including high-efficiency gas turbines and carbon capture systems. The goal is to achieve carbon neutrality for Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2030.
