Georgetown Visitation Students Win Design Competition for Net-Zero Data Center
Ana Pin and her team from Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School designed a net-zero data center, winning an ACE competition. Their project, using liquid immersion cooling and solar energy, addresses community concerns about data center sustainability.

Students of the BEDA Club at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School created a net-zero data center design, winning first place in an ACE regional competition. The design integrates liquid immersion cooling technology and plans for a solar farm, aiming to offset carbon emissions and minimize noise.
Previously, the club also proposed projects like a multi-use Olympic Stadium and a train center. Ana Pin, who will study chemical and biomolecular engineering at Johns Hopkins University, emphasizes the importance of teamwork and the Salesian virtues fostered at her school. The implications of their project could influence future data center developments, balancing technological needs with environmental concerns.
