Georgia and UN Discuss Economic Cooperation on Green Energy and Infrastructure Development
Georgia's Minister of Economy, Mariam Kvrivishvili, met with UN Resident Coordinator Didier Trebucq to review economic cooperation priorities. The discussions focused on inclusive economic growth, emphasizing green energy, energy efficiency, digital transformation, transport and logistics, sustainable tourism, and education.
The importance of aligning national development goals with the UN Framework Program for Cooperation was highlighted to enhance economic progress. Specific attention was given to expanding the UN's role in the Middle Corridor development and improving Georgia's transport and logistics infrastructure.
Kvrivishvili outlined major projects, including the Railway Modernization Project and the Anaklia Deep Sea Port. The meeting also addressed cooperation in green energy, notably green hydrogen production, and the integration of the South Caucasus energy system with the EU energy network.
