Georgia Government to Implement New Support Measures for Hydropower Projects
Georgia's government will implement new support measures for large-scale hydropower projects to enhance energy security, as announced by Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili. Key projects, including Namakhvani and Nenskra, will benefit from preferential tariffs and other support mechanisms, with a comprehensive plan detailing priorities expected by early February. Additionally, the government will waive around GEL 1 billion in penalties for renewable energy developers, allowing for flexible project timelines.

Economy Minister Mariam Kvrivishvili announced that projects like Namakhvani, Nenskra, Khudoni, and the Enguri Pumped Storage Plant will qualify for enhanced backing.
