Georgia Power Enables Large Companies to Integrate Clean Energy via BYONCE Initiative
Georgia Power introduces a program allowing large firms to contract directly with renewable energy developers, potentially reducing utility costs. The initiative, known as BYONCE, aims to enhance grid sustainability and lower the need for additional power plants.

Georgia Power has launched a program called BYONCE, enabling large commercial and industrial entities to integrate clean energy directly into the power grid. By contracting with renewable energy developers, these companies will pay a monthly tariff to Georgia Power for renewable energy credits.
Any surplus credits generated will be distributed among other utility customers. This initiative is anticipated to help lower overall utility bills and mitigate the necessity for new power plants, promoting a more sustainable energy landscape.
