Germany Allocates €1.9 Billion for Bundeswehr Procurement Projects
The German Bundestag's budget committee approved €1.9 billion for five Bundeswehr procurement initiatives on April 15. This funding will enhance military capabilities, including the introduction of Loitering Munition Systems (LMS) and other advanced equipment.

On April 15, the budget committee of the German Bundestag approved €1.9 billion for five Bundeswehr procurement projects. A major focus is on the acquisition of medium-range Loitering Munition Systems (LMS), with Rheinmetall set to deliver over 100 systems by 2028 as part of a larger €2.4 billion framework contract.
Additionally, €1.34 billion is allocated for the 'Infanterist der Zukunft - Erweitertes System' (IdZ-ES), coordinated by Rheinmetall Electronics, with completion expected by 2029. The German Navy will procure 14 additional LARUS systems for tactical reconnaissance, with deliveries anticipated this year.
The modernization of F124 frigates is also planned, with a budget of around €180 million for upgrades. These initiatives aim to enhance the operational readiness and capability of the Bundeswehr.
