Germany and Norway Sign Space Cooperation Agreement
Germany and Norway have formalized a partnership to enhance their space programs, aiming for greater technological independence in satellite communications. This agreement is part of Europe's strategy to establish a competitive stance against the US and China in space exploration.

Germany and Norway signed a cooperation agreement to establish a joint working group focused on space initiatives. The agreement, signed in Tromsø by German Space Minister Dorothee Bär and Norwegian Trade Minister Cecilie Myrset, aims to enhance European capabilities in satellite technology.
The Norwegian island of Andøya is designated as a key launch site for European rockets, with German start-up Isar Aerospace conducting multiple launch attempts. Recent test flights faced challenges, including a crash and an aborted launch. The Arctic's economic and scientific potential, coupled with climate change research, underscores the region's growing importance.
