Germany Considers Acquisition of Australian-Designed Ghost Bat Drones
Germany is exploring the purchase of Australian-designed Ghost Bat drones to enhance defense collaboration. Ministers from both countries will visit RAAF Base Amberley for a briefing on the drone, which serves as a combat aircraft designed in Australia in 50 years. Additionally, Rheinmetall Defence Australia has completed the first seven Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicles for the Australian Defence Force, with plans to produce 211 units. Rheinmetall will also manufacture over 100 Boxer heavy weapon carriers for the German Army, reinforcing defense ties.

The Ghost Bat, a combat aircraft designed in Australia, has attracted interest from countries including Japan and Poland.
Over $2.3 billion has been invested in its development. Concurrently, Rheinmetall Defence Australia has completed the first seven Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicles for the Australian Defence Force, with a total of 211 planned. Rheinmetall will also build over 100 Boxer heavy weapon carriers for the German Army in a contract exceeding $1 billion.
