Germany's Green Hydrogen Capacity Reaches 933MW Post-FID by Q4 2025
Germany's green hydrogen capacity is set to reach 933MW by Q4 2025, a significant increase from 187MW in Q2 2024, according to ICIS research. This growth solidifies Germany's position as Western Europe's largest market for green hydrogen, with projects at the final investment decision stage rising to 205MW and construction capacity nearly quadrupling to 644MW.

Germany's green hydrogen projects that have surpassed the final investment decision (FID) stage reached a combined capacity of 933MW by Q4 2025, up from 187MW in Q2 2024, according to ICIS research. This positions Germany as Western Europe's largest market for green hydrogen. Projects at the FID stage increased from 6.6MW to 205MW, while capacity under construction rose nearly fourfold to 644MW during the same period.
