The Ghana Army has commenced construction of the 9th Riverine Battalion in Dambai, aimed at enhancing operational capabilities. This initiative is part of a broader five-year strategic development plan (2026-2030) to address accommodation and welfare issues for personnel.

The Ghana Army has begun construction of the 9th Riverine Battalion in Dambai, Oti Region, with completion for company deployment expected by year-end. This project, announced by Chief of Army Staff Major General Lawrence Kwaku Gbetanu during the 66 Artillery Regiment's 60th anniversary, aims to relieve internal security duties from the 66 Artillery Regiment.
Additionally, a family-based barracks is being developed to improve troop morale. Under the 2026-2030 strategic framework, multiple legacy projects are underway, including a 30-unit accommodation facility at the Army Training Command in Peki.
All funding is secured, ensuring timely project completion. These developments are critical for addressing accommodation challenges within the Ghana Armed Forces.
