Gia Lai Province Secures Major Investments in Wind Energy Projects
Gia Lai province in Vietnam is positioned as a renewable energy hub, attracting significant investments in wind projects. This shift is facilitated by favorable wind conditions and a national commitment to green energy, aligning with Vietnam's National Power Development Plan VIII.

Gia Lai province has secured multiple large-scale wind power projects, with investments surpassing VND1.6 trillion ($61mn) for the Chu Pong project, expected to start construction in December 2026. Additionally, a consortium has been approved for the 42-MW Nhon Hoa 4 wind power plant, with an investment of VND1.68 trillion.
VinEnergo's involvement in Hon Trau and Vinh Thuan projects brings the total investment to over VND53 trillion. By 2025, the province operated 87 renewable energy projects, including 17 wind farms with a capacity of 916 MW. Sustained growth in this sector presents both opportunities and potential risks related to infrastructure and regulatory frameworks.
