The Gibson City Council approved an engineering services agreement with Donohue & Associates for preliminary design work on a proposed $32 million wastewater treatment plant, with an initial payment of $600,000. The project is expected to take five years and includes $1.2 million in engineering costs.
The current plant, 55 years old, is unable to meet new regulations. Additionally, the council approved a façade grant application for downtown renovations and discussed relocating an old storage building to facilitate the construction of a new public swimming pool, which is set to begin soon. General bills totaling $271,987 and TIF 2 checks of $164,763 were also approved.
