Gilmour Space Secures $217 Million Series E Funding to Advance Sovereign Launch Capability

SPACE ECONOMY

Gilmour Space Technologies has raised $217 million in a Series E funding round, elevating its valuation to over $1 billion and making it Australia's first space unicorn. The round, led by the National Reconstruction Fund Corporation and Hostplus, surpassed its initial $150 million target by nearly 45%.

The funding will support three additional orbital rocket test flights planned before mid-2027, with the next flight projected for Q3 2026. This investment follows a $55 million Series D round in early 2024.

The proceeds will be allocated to the development of the Eris orbital launch vehicle, expansion of rocket and satellite manufacturing, and enhancement of test and launch infrastructure. Gilmour Space aims to deliver reliable access to space for domestic and international customers, building critical space infrastructure in Australia.
