GIPCL Initiates 20 MW/120 MWh Vanadium Flow Battery Project in Vadodara
Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd. (GIPCL) is set to deploy a 20 MW/120 MWh vanadium flow battery energy storage system at its Vadodara gas plant. This project enhances renewable energy integration and grid reliability in Gujarat.

Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd. (GIPCL) is developing a 20 MW/120 MWh Vanadium Redox Flow Battery (VRFB)-based energy storage system at its 165 MW gas plant in Vadodara, Gujarat. The system aims to support renewable energy integration and enhance grid stability through services like peak shaving and frequency regulation.
Designed for a six-hour duration, the project will be executed on a turnkey EPC basis, covering detailed engineering, supply, and long-term maintenance. Key components include electrolyte, storage tanks, and a Battery Management System. This initiative positions GIPCL within India's growing long-duration energy storage sector, leveraging VRFB technology for its scalability and efficiency in renewable applications.
