Glencore Commends DRC Government's Commitment to Responsible Mining Standards
Glencore highlights the Democratic Republic of Congo's (DRC) efforts in improving governance and responsible mining practices. The DRC's initiatives, like the Copper Mark, align with international standards, enhancing market access for critical minerals.

At the Global Conference of the Milken Institute, Glencore's sustainability head, Anna Krutikov, acknowledged the DRC's advancements in governance and responsible mineral exploitation. She noted the country's active adoption of international standards such as the Copper Mark and the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI).
Recent U.S. involvement in the DRC supply chain includes Virtus Minerals' acquisition of Chemaf for strategic mineral extraction, particularly cobalt. Krutikov emphasized that international markets are increasingly rejecting products linked to child labor and corruption. Glencore has invested in local capacity building since its entry into the DRC in 2007, aiming to improve governance and competitiveness in the global market.
