Glenpool City Council Considers Utility Rate Increase to Address Rising Costs
Glenpool officials are proposing a utility rate hike that may raise average monthly bills by approximately $13. A discussion is scheduled for Monday at 6 p.m. to address funding for infrastructure and operational expenses.

The Glenpool City Council is contemplating a utility rate increase, projected to elevate average monthly bills from $83 to around $96. This adjustment is designed to cover rising operational costs, which have surged by about 50% since the last rate increase in 2015, and to finance a $64 million wastewater treatment plant required by state regulations.
Approximately $44 million of this project is funded through federal assistance. City Manager David Tillotson indicated that without this rate increase, the city could face financial deficits within two to three years, potentially impacting services. Discussions on a discounted rate for senior residents are also underway.
