Global Alliance of Universities on Climate Recognizes Khalifa University for Clean Energy Innovations
Khalifa University of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi has been recognized by the Global Alliance of Universities on Climate (GAUC) for its significant contributions to sustainable development and clean energy innovations. During a recent visit, GAUC representatives highlighted the university's sustainable practices and suggested sharing its water technology solutions with global institutions to combat the water crisis. The delegation also engaged with faculty on climate change research relevant to the Gulf Cooperation Council region.

Khalifa University of Science and Technology in Abu Dhabi has been commended by the Global Alliance of Universities on Climate (GAUC) for its efforts in sustainable development, research, and innovation. A delegation led by Dr.
Jian Zhang, Deputy Secretary-General of GAUC, visited the university, highlighting its achievements in sustainability and educational outreach. The GAUC, established in January 2019, includes eight elite universities.
During the visit, the delegation reviewed sustainable practices at the campus, such as energy-efficient LED lighting and a solar-powered water-from-air system. Dr. Zhang suggested that Khalifa University present its sustainable water technology to other global institutions, addressing the ongoing water crisis. The delegation also explored innovations at the Research and Innovation Center on CO2 and Hydrogen and met with faculty experts in polar science focusing on climate change impacts on the GCC region.
