On 14 July, the Glovis Lighthouse, capable of carrying up to 10,800 car equivalent units, made its first European call at ABP Southampton, marking a notable achievement in maritime logistics. The vessel, measuring 230 meters in length and 40 meters in width, berthed at the newly enhanced Solent Gateway terminal.
This port facility, recently modified to accommodate larger carriers, is part of ABP's ongoing investment to bolster global automotive trade. The dual-fuel Glovis Lighthouse operates on liquefied natural gas, aiming for a 24% reduction in carbon emissions compared to traditional fuels. Its successful arrival reinforces Southampton's position as a key hub for the automotive industry, enhancing trade capabilities in line with market demands.
