Goddard Receives $180,709 Grant for Traffic Improvement on West Kellogg Avenue
The City of Goddard, Kansas, has been awarded a $180,709 grant to enhance traffic flow on West Kellogg Avenue using split cycle offset optimization technique (SCOOT). The grant is part of a larger $3.9 million funding initiative from the state aimed at projects utilizing new transportation technology. Salina is the largest recipient, receiving over half of the total funding for various projects, including advanced air mobility and smart airport infrastructure.

The state of Kansas is allocating nearly $3.9 million in grants for transportation technology projects. Goddard will receive $180,709 to implement SCOOT for traffic flow improvement on West Kellogg Avenue.
Salina is the major recipient, with grants including just under $1 million for Kansas State University's advanced air mobility aircraft procurement, over $933,000 for the Salina Airport Authority's Smart Airport Command Center, and $100,000 for the City of Salina's signal coordination project. Each grant recipient is contributing at least 25% in matching funds.
