Gold Exploration Initiated in West Singhbhum with Drilling on 1900 Hectares
Drilling operations have started in West Singhbhum to assess gold reserves, following findings from the Geological Survey of India. The viability of these deposits will determine future mining activities in the region.

Drilling operations over 1900 hectares in West Singhbhum district initiated by the Directorate of Geology aim to confirm gold reserves identified by the Geological Survey of India. If these reserves are deemed commercially viable, the government plans to establish mining blocks for auction.
Additional surveys in the vicinity, particularly in Giridih, have indicated the presence of copper and other minerals such as zinc, cobalt, chromium, and nickel, enhancing the region's mineral profile. Exploration commenced earlier this month and will last for two to three months, with further mining decisions contingent on survey outcomes.
