Goldwind Technology Secures Pre-Approval for 3GW Wind Power-to-Hydrogen Project in Inner Mongolia
Goldwind Technology has received pre-approval for its 3GW wind power-to-hydrogen project in Inner Mongolia, which involves an investment of 18.92 billion yuan. The project will harness 3 million kilowatts of wind power and produce 146,600 tons of hydrogen annually, supporting green methanol and ammonia initiatives. It aims to enhance green energy utilization and contribute to national carbon reduction goals.

Goldwind Technology's Urad Middle Banner wind-solar-hydrogen integrated project has received pre-approval from the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Energy Bureau. The project, with a planned investment of 18.92 billion yuan, aims to harness 3 million kilowatts of wind power and has a designed hydrogen production capacity of 146,600 tons/year.
It will feature a 450,000 kilowatt energy storage system and a 1.32 million standard cubic meter hydrogen storage facility. The green hydrogen produced will support a 600,000-ton/year green methanol project and a 400,000-ton/year green ammonia project, creating a closed-loop industrial chain.
The project will be executed in two phases, with the first phase costing 9.79 billion yuan and producing 72,000 tons/year of hydrogen, while the second phase will cost 9.13 billion yuan and produce 74,600 tons/year. The initiative aims to enhance green energy utilization and support national carbon reduction goals.
