Golem Substation Capacity Doubled to 80 MW to Support Local Energy Needs
The Golem electrical substation has increased its capacity from 31.5 MW to 80 MW, addressing energy supply for 50,000 residents. This investment is part of a larger strategy by OSSH for 2026, aimed at enhancing energy infrastructure in coastal regions.

Enea Karakaçi, Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, confirmed that the Golem substation's capacity has increased to 80 MW. This upgrade aims to support around 50,000 residents in Golem and Mali i Robi, responding to rising energy demands tied to urban development.
The initiative is part of OSSH's broader 2026 plan to improve coastal energy infrastructure. Additional enhancements include strengthening the Porto Romano substation from 50 MW to 100 MW and installing new 20 kV distribution cabins.
Investments are designed to reduce network losses, enhance supply quality, and minimize service interruptions during peak tourist seasons. OSSH is also working with OST to improve network balancing and has developed a plan for increased personnel during summer.
