Géoméga Receives Environmental Permit and Advances Strategic Demonstration Projects
Géoméga has secured its environmental permit for a rare earth magnet recycling demonstration plant in Quebec, allowing operational data collection until December 31, 2028. Progress continues on the construction of this facility, integrated R&D installations, and a bauxite residue valorization project with Rio Tinto, which are essential for advancing sustainable mining practices.

Géoméga Inc. has obtained environmental authorization from Quebec's MELCCFP for its rare earth magnet recycling demonstration facility. The construction of this plant is progressing, with major equipment installed and piping work expected to complete by the end of July.
The facility's launch will begin after sufficient raw material stock is accumulated. Concurrently, the pre-feasibility phase of the bauxite residue project with Rio Tinto is advancing, with key deliverables completed.
The integrated R&D facility's construction is also underway, aimed at enhancing process scalability. These developments are crucial as they support sustainable practices and could lead to significant commercial opportunities in the recycling sector.
