Google Deploys CO2 Battery Plants for Long-Duration Renewable Energy Storage in Europe and the US
Google is deploying CO2 battery technology from Energy Dome as a long-duration energy storage solution, starting with a facility in Sardinia that uses 2,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide to generate 20 MW for up to 10 hours. This initiative aims to effectively store excess renewable energy and will expand to key data-center locations across Europe and the United States.

Google is implementing CO2 battery technology from Energy Dome as a long-duration energy storage solution. The first plant, located in Sardinia, utilizes 2,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide to power a turbine generating 20 MW for up to 10 hours, effectively storing excess renewable energy. Google plans to expand the deployment of these facilities across its key data-center locations in Europe and the United States.
