Google is set to invest $1 billion in a new 500,000 sq ft data center in Franklin Furnace, Ohio, following a tax abatement agreement with the Scioto County Commission. This project, which marks a continuation of Google's expansion in Ohio, comes after previous investments totaling $2.3 billion in the state and aims to enhance the company’s infrastructure in the region.

Google is confirmed as the developer of a 500,000 sq ft data center project in Franklin Furnace, Ohio, with an investment of $1 billion. The Scioto County Commission awarded Google a 75 percent tax abatement for 15 years, amounting to $500,000 annually as part of a payment in lieu of taxes (PILOT) agreement.
The project was initially proposed by Tilted Gate LLC, with Google identified as the applicant after the tax abatement approval. Google has been expanding its presence in Ohio since 2019, with previous investments including $600 million for a data center in New Albany and additional commitments of $1 billion for Columbus and Lancaster data centers. In 2023, Google pledged $1.7 billion in Ohio, followed by $2.3 billion in the subsequent year and acquired 85 acres near Columbus in June 2025.
