Google to Establish Data Center in Dietzenbach, Collaborating on Waste Heat Utilization

DATA AND AI INFRASTRUCTURE

Google is building a new data center in Dietzenbach, intending to utilize waste heat in partnership with Energieversorgung Offenbach (EVO). The project aims to create around 100 jobs in IT maintenance and related services.

Local officials emphasize the opportunity presented by the data center, though specifics on the waste heat output remain confidential. EVO's chairman noted that the waste heat is a byproduct and may not guarantee lower heating costs, as network fees are expected to rise. Google plans to support local community projects with a total of €80,000.
