Google's West Memphis Energy Impact Fund allocates $5 million to Groundswell Community Power and Crowley's Ridge Development Council. This initiative aims to enhance energy affordability and efficiency for residents in Crittenden County while supporting infrastructure improvements.

Google has launched the West Memphis Energy Impact Fund, committing $5 million to Groundswell Community Power and Crowley's Ridge Development Council as part of a total $25 million investment aimed at improving utility affordability in Crittenden County, Arkansas. The fund is designed to finance critical home repairs and energy efficiency upgrades for approximately 200 homes, with a focus on pre-weatherization needs.
This initiative will also establish a Community Energy Advisory Council to guide fund allocation based on local insights. The pending $4 billion data center project in West Memphis will require substantial energy resources, prompting Google to partner with Entergy Arkansas for energy supply and related infrastructure improvements. The collaboration is anticipated to create long-term economic growth and improve residential energy efficiency, addressing significant barriers faced by low-income households.
