Government Investigation Followed by Mysterious Fires at Data Centers in South Korea
A government investigation into a data breach linked to an APT member's leaked information prompted audits of major corporations in South Korea, including LG and Lotte. On the day of the audit, a fire at a data center destroyed nearly 100 servers, followed by another fire at Lotte's facility, which had also faced a security breach. The investigation took a tragic turn when an officer involved in the case took his own life by early October.

In August 2025, Phrack published a dump from an APT member's workstation, revealing exploits and loot from government networks and telecommunications in South Korea and Taiwan. This prompted a government investigation, leading to audits of corporations including LG, Lotte, and Korea Telecom.
On the day of the audit, a fire in the data center destroyed nearly 100 servers without backups, disrupting public services. Shortly after, another fire occurred at the Lotte data center, which had experienced a separate security breach. By early October, an officer involved in the investigation of the first fire tragically took his own life.
