Great Sky Launches Brain-Inspired Superconducting AI Computing Architecture with $14 Million Funding
Great Sky has announced the launch of its superconducting optoelectronic computing architecture for artificial intelligence, supported by a $14 million seed funding round led by Bison Ventures. This technology intends to overcome the limitations of existing AI infrastructures that largely depend on GPUs.
It integrates superconducting circuits and optical communication, enabling systems to function more like biological neural networks. The architecture is capable of processing over 60 million video frames per second, significantly outperforming traditional models. The development is rooted in 12 years of research at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), with plans to create large-scale AI systems utilizing advanced fiber-optic connections.
