Greatland Resources Secures Environmental Approval for Havieron Project
Greatland Resources has obtained both state and federal environmental approvals for the Havieron gold-copper project in Western Australia, facilitating a final investment decision expected by June 2026. This approval allows the company to advance into early works and tendering, marking a significant step towards establishing a high-grade mining operation.

Greatland Resources has received the final environmental permits necessary for the development of its Havieron gold-copper project in Western Australia, enabling a final investment decision anticipated in the June 2026 quarter. The approvals include state clearance under the Environmental Protection Act and federal approval under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act, confirming regulatory support for the project.
Havieron is projected to produce around 270,000 ounces of gold annually over an initial mine life of 17 years, contributing to a broader gold-copper mining hub in the Paterson Province. The company is currently progressing early works, including boxcut tunnel installation and underground development, which positions the project for significant operational potential alongside the Telfer processing facility. The recent environmental approvals are expected to mitigate risks associated with the development, enhancing Greatland's production strategy.
